I’ve just bought a used Specialized mountain bike and want to change the tyres. They are currently 26 x 2.2, but everywhere seems to stock 26 x 2.3 and they’re much cheaper too. Can I use these instead. I’m just a casual rider, maybe once a week, bit of road, bit of fields and bridleways too. Any recommendations for where to get them from or which ones to get is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Have a look on Ebay. I've just replaced 2.0's for 2.1's and they seem to look big enough. Went for a pair of Schwalbe Blackjack knobbly ones.

Have a look at how much clearance you have around your current tyres. If they fit with some room to spare, then the 2.3 should be ok.
