Me again
A few years ago, a new ordnance required us to use transparent (pink, in our case) bin bags for our dustbin waste.
A neighbour got us a couple of rolls while we were in the UK, and soon after that she moved away, and gave us all her unused rolls (about ten).
She told us she got them from the Mairie, but when I went there a week or so ago and asked for more, the historically unhelpful gatekeeper at the acceuil said she had no idea what I was on about.
They aren't sold in the supermarket, so where am I supposed to find more?
They have "Communauté des Communes, Porte Oceanes du Limousin" (or somesuch) printed on them.
TIA

Hi
I'm In the Dordogne, but I think dechet bags are pretty much the same. The Marie should have some, but what about asking in your local shop, or your neighbours for their source.
Also, we have recently received a notice concerning a France wide rural collection plan that is already taking place in certain areas and is being rolled out now.
Basically you will need to register for a swipe card to open the main bin to deposit your rubbish. They will monitor your usage, and based on what they will see as what you should be throwing away they will charge you.
Already we have a swipe card to visit the dechetterie (Tip)

We don't have a local shop , or any neighbours, other than the one who left and was replaced by German part-timers.
We have a weekly dustbin collection, and they won't remove anything they don't like the look of, hence the see-through bags.
My point was that the mairie said they didn't have any bags , and before I go back and shout the odds, I wanted to know who was in the wrong.
Any good? http://www.porteoceane-dulimousin.fr/pol-agit/envi...

Hmm. Unusual. Did you ask the helpful assistant where they obtained their bags?
You may have to go to the nearest prefecture in the largest town. In my case its Riberac which acts as a hub for about 100 villages in my region.
I do wonder if a trip to St Junien will be necessary, given we had to go there to get the Dechetterie card, even though Rochechouart is our closest sous-prefecture.You may have to go to the nearest prefecture in the largest town. I also wonder what I could acheive by 'bumping into' M. le Maire in the pub without his officious assistant there.
I hope he's not married to her.....
Well, down here in the Aude we get a regular handout of big, black, wastebags which smell of coal. The household rubbish is collected weekly, we have a paper card for the tip which is never checked as they know us all and the recycling is taken by us to a place in the commune for collection.

Our card is swiped at the tip even though they know us, because of restrictions introduced on the number of visits and the quantity of green waste you can take there in a year.Magooagain said:
