Went to a friend's house party last night and he had one of these babies in the garden! Now I want one badly!
Has anyone here got the joy of a tub in their garden and how much does a reasonable one cost if I wanted to splash out (excuse the pun!)
Also how difficult is it to keep a tub clean and looking fresh??
Any thoughts and of course does anyone have any stories of hot tub frolics, that been the thing that has attracted me to one after last night ;)

Saw one of these at the local sounty show. They looked very good and being portable is a bonus. They were £1100 there.

I suppose it would depend on how often you used it, and how many people also used it, as to how often it needed cleaning.
I myself have always liked the idea of one indoors, perhaps in a conservatory, sufficiently big enough to have subtly mirrored sides, and a huge, floor-to-ceiling tropical fishtank mounted in the middle.
Or is that just a little too Bond Villain?

AS for Tubs, I've been trying for years with my folks, but it just ain't happening. For shame.
I bought mine 3 years ago just before the world cup.
I bought it from costco as their package was the best (included del and fitting of the Hottub and gazebo).
I clean it every 6-8 weeks
Costs around £5 a week to run sometimes more
After the install my priorty was to install the beer fridge

I installed mine about 10 months ago.
They are fantastic! Use it about twice a week, sometimes more depending on how knackered I am. They are a doddle to keep clean, there's two filter cartridges which keep the water clear and you add chlorine and either ph+ or ph- to keep the acidity right. I just use a floating chlorine dispenser so I just have to check it every three days or so. The filters get cleaned once a fortnight and I change the water every three months.
I got told it would cost about 50p/day to run, but it's working out to be around £2, however, that could be because we use it all the time and three big pumps take a fair bit of leccy to power.
The temperature is set at 40 degrees and a big cover keeps it nice and insulated, just fold the cover back and jump in - lovely!
Of course, I couldn't just stick it in the back garden, oh no. I built a thatched roof over it, with a bar area to the side with a fully stocked Stella Artios fridge within reach. The area is decked out with fancy LED lights set in and romantic mood lighting in the roof. As it's mainly me and the missus that use it, I have no saucy tales to tell - that's what she told me to say
Cost about £4500 for the tub (5 seats and 1 recliner) and about another £2000 for the building work, £1300 of which was just for the thatched roof)
If you can afford it and have the space for it, then I'd recommend it. Best thing we went into debt for

Seriously, what is a hot tub!? It's just a big bath with always hot water isn't it? Not sure I see the fascination really
Sure, it's just a big bath. A big bath with big jets of water that massage every nook and cranny and can make tired, aching limbs feel normal again.
Don't think of them as just like a jacuzzi, although they do have the air blowers for gentle buffeting, the secret is the powerful jets that really belt out the water.
The filters keep the water sparkly clean.
