Plan to take the exam next week, 100 questions, have to get at least 90 correct, anybody else done it?
There are some bizarre questions, you have to learn the answer to all 1000 questions because some don't have an obvious answer and some questions all the answers are correct, you have to know which one.

I failed my bike test in Malaysia, couldn't find the man who was selling the coffee as he didn't speak English. My wife did her car license, frankly some of the answers were just wrong, 'the purpose of the interior mirror was to check the rear passanger had their seat belts on' . Just do loads of dummy test would be my advice, on no account ask a western qualified driver. That's what I told my wife, don't ask me, just do as instructor says and pass.
When she had passed I then set about teaching her to drive.

You used to be able to pay $1,000 and have a policeman in Hainan "help" you take the test but apparently they stopped that in 2016. Did you do it in Chinese, or English?

I did it in English, it was very well organised and a good experience.
I know people who did it 7 or 8 years ago and they paid people to sit under the table and answer the questions, but that doesn't happen any more
