I thought this deserved a new thread. The boy is doing well, although they have stopped covering the match over here in the U.S to show Roddick running through his match.
I have the live score up and he is 5-1 and a set up! If he gets through this he makes at least £44k in prize money. Not a bad week of work.

He is a good player. I like the way he gets pumped at the right time and just seems to walk about between the points completely relaxed when he needs to.
He will be through to the 4th round if he keeps things going. However, he is playing an experienced player and there might/might not be a point where he sits down and regroups. That is the great thing about tennis. It's never over until the last point has been won so there is always a way to win.

Ok, so what is going on now? I can see the score 0-4 in the 3rd set. I am assuming that Nalbandian did what I thought hw would do. Namely sit down, refocus and remember exactly how solid a player he is.
Roddick is almost finished battering his opponent so I am hoping they will go back to Murray. Very annoying as you can here the crowd of Centre Court during the match they are showing.

Well he did his best. Good show and here's to next time. It's clear he has more talent than Henman ever had.
But I was irked to note the overblown screams and cheers from the Brit hooray-brigade every time 'our boy' won a point - whether by skill or whether Nalbandian simply stuffed it in the net. There was Murray trying to do some emergency on-field physiotherapy and all the crowd could do was silly Mexican waves...

His game is completely different to Henmans. For Henman to remain so high up in the rankings for so long with a style of game that hardly anyone is taught is something you have to applaud.
Murray could have done less in that match and saved a fair bit of energy. He made very few advances to the net to shorten points. This is because he is a very big baseline player and that is where he feels most confident. As such a player he needs superb levels of fitness to compete within the top 100 and today he showed that going 5 sets with one of the best and strongest players on tour was just beyond him. Baseline players need to run side to side all day long and doing that for five sets is not easy. This is why players like Nadal who fought through quite a few 5 set matches at the French open have to be admired.
His coach is an absolute Wnker who has jumped on the bandwagon and he needs to be replaced as soon as possible! Typical English tennis. Players go elsewhere and get good because of lack of interest from their own country. On return, when they have done well.....guess who steps in with an arm around the shoulder giving the impression that it was all their doing? Same thing with Henman.

P.S We need to open the doors to decent totty at wimbledon. Every other grandslam, look around stands and smile. Wimbledon? The only thing worth looking at is the seats for the top players girlfriends(at times). I am sure many more English players would do well with the first few rows filled with top notch totty instead of grandmas and frumpy looking lasses.
