Will Type R shocks & springs fit my Mk7 (EU9) 1.7 CTDI?

I'm curious to know whether these are interchangeable, and more importantly if anyone has done this before. Mine is the 5-door EU9 Mk7 model, and I'm talking about struts from the EP3 Typre-R, of course.

I realise the spring rates will be different, and the 1.7 CDTI engine is probably a bit heavier than the K20, so if anyone has done this and can give their feedback, I'd be really grateful.

I use a Whiteline rear ARB and it made a really big improvement, but the stock setup is really hard yet it doesn't handle that well, so I think Honda got the spring rate and damping quite wrong. I've driven 3 and they're all the same.

I read that one owner installed Eibach springs, so that might be the best way to go, but if my stock shocks are overdamped, the ride would still be crashy.

I’ve got a lovely set of Bilstein shocks and eibach pro lowering springs just come off my EP3 for sale.... would fit straight on IIRC

Thanks, I'm going to wait until I know for certain they will fit, as there are minor differences in other components such as my hubs are 4 stud and Type R are 5 stud, and it's always best to be sure before buying.

I’m pretty certain they will. You will just need some spacers on the lower bolts on the front struts.
