the gear is worn out on my wiper motor gearbox.

it looks like it got stuck at some time and the worm then stripped a portion on tbe teeth.

it seems that every option is available apart fron the one i need (170 degree)

is it available somwhere or is there an alternative thats acceptable?

thanks

Have you a special one off system fitted?

170 Degrees is for a one arm system as that is a full wipe of the screen

Here's a good website for parts https://www.s-v-c.co.uk/product/14w-wiper-drive-ge...

If the gear has worn there is every chance the wheel-boxes are tight or worn

It will not of failed without a reason, I am happy to help with one FOC, once you/I have worked out what happened for it to fail, Having rebuilt hundreds of the 29W motors, and 20+ of the new motors, gears do not 'just' fail. A@

ive only just got the car.

the previous owner had replaced the motor so thats new.

ive had a look at the linkage and spindles etc and they all seem to be nice and free.

it looks like a some point its jammed up.

one section on the gear has been warn away like the motor was running with the wipers stopped.

if you have a supply of the part im more than happy to pay for it.

The new 'motor' was fitted incorrectly and on the start up (whilst running in reverse) it has wiped the teeth off the gear ....it will need another park switch too as whilst running in reverse that has not had a ramp to run up (there is a cam with ramp on the rear of the gear). It will need the yoke rotating (so it runs the right direction) and a new gear fitting...mail me and I can help. A@

Whilst you are in there can you check that the wiper rack has not been changed from the OE TVR heavy duty one to the 14W one (picture of the OE TVR HD on the left and the 14W on the right) as the weaker 14W will convelute in the rack tube on start up too.

That's one hell of a sweep if it 170 degrees, I like it

As have already mentioned, something tight could cause the failure

As you're sure the wheel-boxes are free, pull the rack out and make sure it's nice and flexible, a stiff rack will also tighten the whole wipe action up and strip the gear

Should have posted this for you yesterday.....

The shaft with drive plate will knock out of the nylon gear and can be fitted to any new gear, see below

Make sure to fit the shaft with drive plate in the same position, note the position of the upper drive shaft to the nylon gear lower cam that operates the park switch (don't fit it 180 degrees out)

Please! that bears zero relationship to the 29W motor.

i think your right about the motor. although i think its now running in the correct direction. the 170 gear is running clockwise and the park swithch (which seems ok) is running up the ramp as it should.

i tried to send you an email but it says i cant.

Relax

The shaft with drive plate can be removed from a 29W nylon gear

The image posted shows the drive plate with shaft rising out of the nylon gear

Just like Jesus rose to heaven

OP

There will very likely be 4 rivets that need drilling out

You obviously need to get hold of a good gear that can be dismantled

BUT PS, as ever, you are being obtuse and ignoring the facts, choosing not to read previous posts, on your own sort of 'mission' ...I suppose it helps that I have 1000+ 29W gears (that are nothing like anything that fits a 14W that SVC sell, THEY pass people onto me) I DONT SELL my gears, they are FREE! I will continue to gift them away for the motors ONLY if the reason for the failure is cured (having built 100's of the 29W motors I like to think I know what I am doing with them) Your posts are what makes PH such good a place to visit. Don't be nasty

Relax

Possibly attend anger management classes

Have informed the OP that the gear can be dismantled

What's your problem?

It works

I know it’s an old thread but I have managed to replicate the 170 degree helical gear and have successfully 3d printed it using pet-g carbon fiber and it’s been running fine all through this past winter , anyone who needs one just contact me and I’ll print one for ya . Was a right ball ache but on the positive side I now know how to use 3d cad and use a 3d printer smile .
