Killers

I am SO grateful that I am sitting in the comfort of my home with a rather nice bottle of red wine. I feel so sorry for those people who've had their tents washed away, what a complete and utter nightmare.

I was very impressed - i've been dissappointed by them before, but i feel theyre a band for a large stage - i think they could stake a claim in future for U2's stadium rock crown. Its a shame Brandon Flowers is such a cock.

Not necessarily. i just feel that their songs and egos suit a larger container than Manchester Academy! I'm generally left very cold by stadium gigs, but i think that somehow the killers suit larger venues better. Theyre quite detached from the crowd when they play - no banter or talking from them at all, which is pretty dull.

Which, as far as I'm concerned, makes them not worth bothering with. If a band's not technically amazing, which they aren't, or fantastic songsmiths (?), which they aren't, they've gotta be able to do it live and rock bands live should make you sweat and jump around in a completely involuntary manner.

Brendon Flowers ego is the only downfall in the equation, I saw The Killers on the NME tour and they are immense, if Brendon shut his gob they could have it all, sorry back to the partry.

We were camped at the top of Pennards Hill and had to move after the "Glasto waterbed" under the ground sheet become something far more serious: ankle deep water through the tent....

Mind you, we managed to keep most things dry and and didn't lose too much (incl 2 FULL boxes of wine ). Found a new pitch and dried off. Then wandered down Pennards and got presented by the scenes above....

Makes me realise how fortunate we really were to be at the top, near the source of the water. Sobering seeing the fire service frogmen checking tents out under water for undiscovered occupants too. Seeing cars up to their bumpers in water in the car parks might have caused a few snags too.

Great weekend though Will we try and go again? Oh !
