How does the "itinerary" feature work? I've got myself a TT Go 700, and I've tried putting in a route in France, but every time I look at the route, when I press "done" it calculates the route from where I am at home, and adds on the route in France. Do you have to start an itinerary route only when you want to use it i.e. you cannot check it in demo mode? Am I being a bit thick in programming it? Also, why does it keep adding bits of a route to an itinerary? I did a route from home to York, and it threw in several miles of M62 as a bonus!! Is it just my huge, sausage-like fingers buggering up the route planning?
Very easy. Go to the settings default menu in the auto-route facilty. Select the OK button twice, run the autosequential programmes on the secondary menu. After this program the road finder default setting to process the map software in planning mode, but keep the 'auto' function on active route planning. This will bring up a sub menu outlining the various overlay options, but ignore these. Instead opt for the 'replay' program which will give you several defaultable options. The third one down is the 'itinerary' button. Click on this until all destinations are selected. You'll then need to put them in order.

Would like to know what you think of it. I have an original GO which I upgraded to V5 (though I think there is another update since then to fix a few things) and was impressed with the changes.
Not needed to try the itinerary option yet though.
I may need to get a second unit into the family in the next month or two. The 300 seems a little lite on features, the 500 about right. 700 would be nice if the hdd holds up to the travel but I don't really need the hdd capacity and maps or the remote. However, would interested to know how you get on with it.

That makes absolutely no sense to me whatsoever! 
The menus of which you speak play no part in the gubbins I can access on the 700 - there is only a series of icons to play with. The software is actually v5.200 - is that the same as yours?Yes, same as mine. It seems you're using it in 'classic' mode. Try doubling up the user first throughput menu - by double clicking the original icon. The secondary icons on pull-down menu can be scolled anti-clockwise. Keep doing this until the 'mode settings' option comes up. Click on 'operation settings' then the 'bespoke system' menu will appear. Ignore this, so click 'cancel'. This will activate 'bespoke mode', whereby you click on the 'B' icon. Following which, refer to my original post.
You must be on a pocket PC - there is no obvious way of getting access to these secondary menus on the 700, as there is no method of interface other than the touch screen. I've checked all the files on it's HDD and there is no clue as to how to get acess to programmable variations. I'll see what the guys on www.expansys.co.uk have to say about it - some of them can completely reprogramme TomTom units.

Seem pretty clued up on Tom Tom Go stuff. I have a classic Tom Tom Go on latest version software, very impressive piece of kit. Have you installed the FREE speed camera database yet? Has saved me on more than one occasion.
