Hey all - I expect this could be an obvious answer that I know already (that being, yes you need to go specific) but I'm not too sure so will forego any pride and ask...

When buying a shock/spring kit (for example this - https://www.bilstein.com/uk/en/product/bilstein-b1... do you need to go for a specific fitment for your car or will any version fit? For example, I'd be looking at a kit for the M135i, which the Bilstein website says would be applicable (not news to me, common upgrade) to put on.

Does that mean you can go out and buy any version of the kit or does it mean they'll do a SKU which is specifically intended for that car/platform/bodystyle?

Not sure I understand your question, or if I did, if it is a wind up.

But you will need a specific kit for any specific car

Not a wind up no, just not something I have gotten involved with before so wanted to be sure before I made a mistake.

Cheers for the answer.

You'll need a kit specific to the car. A B12 kit for a Mini or something isn't going to fit a 1 series...
