I think his is the best. I watched his E46 one last night and I am pleased he swore as much as I did when I replaced the CCV in mine.

Nathan's BMW Workshop from the U.S. of A. isn't too bad

Watched it too; he's very good, makes me laugh with his antics smile Very knowledgeable though and it's a learning series too; you pick up a lot from him smile

Re the CCV; this is why I recommend removing the intake mani. Even though it's amore drawn out process, you've got easy access to everything then; plus a the age the M54s are at now; it makes sense to swap out the mani gaskets too for peace of mind etc

I’ve discovered BMW Doctor... although all he goes on about is the E60... to me he spouts some rubbish, but some stuff can be useful.

He does like to state if you don’t know how to fix a bmw you shouldn’t own one. So (to me), I don’t know how to fix them...so I shouldn’t get a bmw again...

In this vid he’s following a guy an E61 and apparently if you’re driving 2 litre diesel... “you’re not really making it” he’s obviously making it...as he drives a 3 litre E60 and E46.
https://youtu.be/AwCSxP3wwUc

Makes me laugh.

Edit- Reading the comments on his vid... he’s a Donald Trump fan... it’s not COVID-19, it’s ChinaVirus to him. Bit of a rant on there from him, boasting how well he knows his politics etc.

Also noticed in a few videos... doesn’t wear a seat belt... acts the big I am in the comments.

I also really rate M539.

There are some enjoyable short vids on BMW's heritage channel: BMW Group Classic

Car Throttle are quite good at the cheaper end of the market and they've just started a series on bringing a £150 E39 back from the dead

https://www.google.co.uk/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=...

The Nathan guy someone else mentioned used to be quite good but I think he's got a bit ham fisted of late.

Joe Achilles shows off some of the new stuff https://www.google.co.uk/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=...

Another vote for M539. He's got a good sense of humour. The videos he did on the 850i were informative and enjoyable

M359 is great. I thought I recognised his M5 from somewhere, then I realised he'd done the rounds on the forums for years!

BMW Doctor is a grade A tosser. He gives a lot of stupid information, but people seem to buy it. Lots of 'THIS WILL LEAVE YOU STRANDED IN YOUR BMW' type rubbish.

I'm also a big E39Source fan, I've known Ryan since about 2011.

Haha yes! I can see why he gets a lot of stick. Winds me up how he can never say “this” it’s “dis”.
Gives it the big I am... in one vid, said he’d never get a E60 M5, as he doesn’t like them and he emphasises that....yet a month later....he’s got one. He said the N52 engine is going to sky rocket in price, as F11 and onwards owners are realising how bad new engine are, and are coming back to these engine. biggrin

Apparently an E61 isn’t a proper E60...

He’s got a mate George Austers who’s got his own channel... to me he doesn’t seem too bad.

Oh and he does love click bait... (I feel for it)

Not once was he on his phone during the video.

It’s as though he’s a parody channel!

He is an absolute idiot. He might have some good points occasionally, but watching his videos is torture.

He comes across as such an angry person with such a chip on his shoulder, constantly repeating himself over and over and uses some very misleading titles.

I watched one where the title was never use a battery tender on your car, insinuating that using a ctek (like the ones BMW dealers sell) will damage your car. When you eventually get through all of the angry, repetitive bluster, you find out he actually means is they are not sufficient to keep the battery topped up if you are programming the car. A completely different scenarios to maintaining a battery.

+1 Shoplife - quick-ish video tutorials.
+1 50's kid - very detailed video's if you have an e46 50's kid video's are brilliant.

1A auto put some half decent how to do videos.
Hans Garage also not bad, he doesn't speak too much and good camera positioning.

I'll probably get stick for this but I quite like Lee Lockwood type content. More his earlier stuff (rather than his reviews). He buys his cars and just does bits and bobs on them but I like his honest and his non-expert approach. He doesn't admit to be the best.
I wish he did a some work on a BMW, his undersealing video on Soarer is a laugh. Something I will probably do on my e46.

I did my CCV last weekend. I thought I had a leaking OFHG, appears that was fine but had a leaking ccv. More so because someone decided to replace the pipe that goes to the dipstick with a random pipe. Unless Renault make elements of a BMW CCV system?

Anyways I think I sorted one leak but found I still have a leak and unfortunately I'm leaking it's the Oil Sump Pan gasket frown which I'm not looking forward to doing.
Maybe next year as I've just put fresh oil in.
Any good video's on doing the oil sump pan gasket would be appreciated.
