I've never experienced it myself but 'kin hell - you really can't be too cynical in this life can you!

Ta for the heads-up though. I'll make sure I check VERY carefully in future.

Organisations like the RAC and the AA really get on my wick.

They are supposed to be there for the benefit of their members, these days they behave worse than many multinationals with abslute contempt for their members.

The AA is constantly trying to sell me credit cards and loans - even though I have repeatedly told them to insert their junk mail up their collective exhaust pipes.

Despite what their TV ads say, I have never had an insurance renewal quote from the AA that hasn't been way above what I have been quoted elsewhere. I guess they work on the basis that the average numpty will trust them as they are so well known.

Have only once ever taken out an AA insurance policy - years ago for the then GF who had 0% NCB and weirdly the AA came up cheapest. Don't recall renewing it...

I phoned up the AA for an insurance quote on my Audi a few years ago. They quoted £700 which at the time was quite reasonabl. I enquired whether that was with no claims protection, which it wasn't. The quote then went up to £1400.

I decided it was time to and put the phone down.

Never again have I tried to get an insurance quote from them.

Hmmm. RAC - I see that they are 'getting into bed' with ambulance chasers (in a recent TV advert). So, I will not do any further business with them anyway.

The worrying thing is many individuals may not go throught the paperwork properly and could end up having invalidated insurance. It's not the company's fault since you should check through to see all the paper work is correct.

Personally I always check thoroughly to see if there is a mistake and regardless of how good a renewal quote may be I'll always look around to compare other prices.
