It's a Sad day for me today....

Had to have my little girl PTS today, i'm gonna miss her a hell of alot...She is no longer in pain and her suffering is now over.

Really feel for you, it's hard isn't it but if she's no longer in pain and the suffering has ended you know you've done the right thing.

Raise a glass to her memory and think of all the good times and have a dammed good weep.

I remember when we had to have our dog put to sleep a few years ago it was completely heart braking.
But as in this case, was the best for her to end her suffering.

I'm sorry about your doggie. It's hard when you have to put them down, but sometimes it's really the merciful thing to do.

If you put away her bed and toys, it might make it easier so that you aren't focusing on the fact that she isn't there.

Get out her photos and remember what a good life she had with you.

I have 2 dogs and 3 cats.

Whenever a pet dies it is so distressing and is the one thing that would put me off getting more. Every time one goes it takes a while to get over. With dogs its particularly hard. I hate to think of what I will feel when my Lab goes.

Mrs Dibble left her Rottweiler in Canada when she moved back here. She got a letter a while back from the lady that took her on, saying she'd had to do the same trip as you to the vet.

Don't know what I'll do when the time comes for our two here. I'll throw some extra sticks for them in the park for you and Jaz tonight.

was pretty cut up when we had our lab Basil put down last summer. he really was part of the family. Im no softy but i admit i did shed a tear when he went.

Just be thankfull yours had a good life and was with people who loved and valued her. I bet shes having a cracking time in the big kennel in the sky.

The great thing about Dogs is that they love you unconditionally - its tough but you did the right thing.

Commiserations mate. My outlook is that it's the one final kindness that you can do for a beloved pet. It's hard to do but when I had to do it for my cairn terrier, Ben, I could comfort myself that he was at last peaceful and no longer suffering.

Humans can reason that they are suffering but may get better with treatment but an animal cannot. I really think it's the best thing you can do when there's no hope. Some friends of mine don't agree but I would rather not watch a member of my family suffer when I can do something about it.
