3rd Alfa in 2 years. All daily run arounds
Had a 159ti in red a couple of years back. Then more recently a 1.9 GT with lots of mods. Still have this really because I’ve loaned it to a pal for a bit
However it’s replacement is already here.

It’s a 2.4 Sv with elec seats etc
Loads of history and really in great condition. Whoever says Alfa’s don’t last would be proved wrong with this car
Don’t know if previous owner of last 6 years in on here but if so he should be praised for his care of the car
It’s done 110k but looks to have plenty left in it.
Had it up on the lift yesterday. All is pretty good, subframe and other usual bits are ok
The rear shocks are original and look it,so I will probably go for the prodrive suspension kit before too long.
Other plans are to lose the black wheels. I get that many like them but to me all the design of the alloys is lost. These cars look great on ti wheels but need to be silver for me. So I’ll either paint these or maybe swap for something else
I’ll also re do brakes in red as Brembo usually are. Again just my preference

Is that the 2.4L 5 cylinder diesel that was fitted to the 156 ?
If so it is quite a powerful lump!
I had one as a 'courtesy car' ....that one had a remap and the torque was amazing.....however that combination tends to eat gearboxes !
Great sound for a diesel as well.

It's the 210 model with a mild re map. Done primarily when the egr delete was done. Goes well enough.
Done 250 miles today in all weather conditions. Feels nice and planted, much more big Car feel than the GT. 36mpg ave looks to be about as good as it gets though. Gt would do 10 more
Very happy with it though. Don't think I could have done better for the money
Just leaving home yesterday, suddenly lost power steering and battery light came on. I thought snapped aux belt. But instead it was the bottom pulley that had disintegrated so belt drive was lost.
The steering is flippin heavy without assistance!
Anyway it's common apparently. Fortunately my pal is an Alfa indie so I did the job today with a bit of supervision. Easy job and £120 for the part. Could have been worse if miles from home

Yep 19. Same size as Ti wheels currently on. The Stelvio wheels are 34 offset which will bring the wheels out 7mm more which is good. They do clear the front caliper but I will probably use a 5 mm spacer as well to give a 12mm push out altogether.
This is still 4mm less than the 16mm currently used on the Ti wheels. Obviously the standard 159/Brera are set in a long way as standard.

Wheels now on. Think I like them,a bit undecided. Also now got Prodrive S ish suspension. Eibach springs and Bilstein dampers. Looks nicer and not a huge difference in stiffness so happy days. Also had its MOT this week and straight through.
Got to be the best cheap car I’ve had. Seems popular with others who see it too

I thought it looked good with the black wheels but those TI wheels look the business.
Nice choice (car and wheels).
I've had my 3.0 Gtv for 12 years now, the original owner sold it to me when he got his Brera.
Seems like once Alfas are in the blood there is no vaccine.
Tempted to sell my Gtv and get a Brera as my lady prefers for us to go out in the Giulietta as more comfortable and has boot space. Think a Brera could replace both
Do keep the updates coming in

As an aside. No surprise here but the GT I had was much bigger inside. The Brera really ought to be a 2 seater!
I’ve yet to move on my GT. thought it was sold but the buyer is W Mitty I think.
I test drove a Brera when they first launched and tbh would've gone witha GT even though at the time I didn't need a back seat. The rears in the Brera seemed so pointless. In the end I went for an S2000 I’ve yet to move on my GT. thought it was sold but the buyer is W Mitty I think.

It's all down to taste and yours is what matters obviously, but I preferred the black wheels - more contrast. To me the silvers look like you tried to match the bodywork and couldn't.
