Servicing and sourcing parts

Very quick few questions about where do you Corvette owners go to for servicing?
Is there a decent network of 'official' servicing garages whereby you can obtain a credible service stamp in your car's log book?
And, how easy is it for you to source maintenance or even modification parts if you need them?

(I'm toying with the idea of a C7 Stingray, I notice there are a few of them in the UK but still very rare car over here)

Hi.
Depends on where you are in the country.
If you're oop t'north, then there's this official GM service agent - https://www.partsusa.co.uk based in Stockport.
If you're darn sarf, then there's Ian Allan (who I use) and they're great and a service is pretty good value (think my last service on my C7 Grand Sport was about £325 ). Both these will get you an 'official' GM service stamp. I can also recommend Ian Allan as a place to buy a C7 from, too. https://www.ianallanvirginiawater.co.uk

As for parts, they are readily available - especially service parts. Other 'performance enhancing parts' are available from the US direct and any specialist would be able to fit them.
There are specialists (like https://www.usautomotive.co.uk ) who'll get you all the parts you need from GM's Europe parts HQ in Sweden.
There are also other parts suppliers, but a few tend to be for the C1-C6 generations of 'Vettes.

Good advice from JONSCZ there. For a US import car, get a CARFAX report to check that it has not been written off/repaired in the US. Also someone was telling me recently that "mileage correction" i.e, clocking is common in the States.

I had Ian Goss service my C7 Z06 recently, lovely chap and very close to where I hope to be living soon, so I'm lucky to have found him.
Unsure about sourcing parts though as I haven't needed to.

If it's parts for maintenance/mods then don't dismiss ordering direct from the USA, it's pretty painless. Rockauto is simplicity in itself and I am not exaggerating when I say stuff will arrive before than if you'd ordered locally. Always 5% voucher codes floating around if you look.

Summit racing/jegs also good. - Plenty of other places too.

My only advice would be to try to avoid USPS unless it's the only option - not because of USPS, that works great but because this end it will be parcelforce and they are dire. Pay a couple quid more for fedex/UPS and sit back and relax as you track your bits arriving at Stansted the next day and clearing customs

Don't forget to bung a couple of oil filters on the order, always worth having a stash.

I placed an order for a maf sensor and a pair of O2's on Tuesday 01st at 15:53 with rockauto. I have just come home from work on Thursday 03rd at 13:46 and they were with the next door neighbour.

For comparison I ordered a service kit for my Range Rover over two weeks ago and i'm still waiting on the air filters which I was assured were in stock, agreed to take an aftermarket OEM brand when they realised they weren't etc etc. Large UK retailer.

Living Stateside for 5 years taught me they really do think 'customer is king.' Why people pay over inflated prices from UK/Euro suppliers is beyond me. Obv if you're in Warranty you may have no choice.

How did you find the overall cost once arriving at your door, delivery, import taxes etc?

Parts were cheaper than I found anywhere else by a long shot. All AC Delco genuine original equipment. Done this many times from many different outlets. Like I say, avoid parcel force like the plague - utterly useless. In fact, one of the vendors who I used to use in the States refused to ship to the UK specifically because so many things went missing between customs and delivery by parcelforce.

There were cheaper options, even with Fedex on this order but I wanted these bits fast as possible. Don't forget the Exch rate at the moment is utter dogst as well.

Why buy parts in Europe where Corvette is seen as an exotic sports car when you can buy parts in the States where it is seen for what it is, a mass produced Chevy.
