As per the title: what was the first song that you learned how to play on a musical instrument?

For me it was Ring of Fire by Johnny Cash when I started learning the ukulele a few years ago. As it's basically a 3 chord song (G-C-D) it took me only a few minutes between first picking up the instrument and actually playing a tune.

I think it was "How many roads" on guitar. A D E if I remember correctly. Long time ago now. So long ago that if I'd put the effort in and practiced I wouldn't still be st on guitar!

By some strange coincidence, it was this one!

(Just the middle bit, I mean, I have trouble getting the rest of it right even now.}

Big Yellow Taxi....well my version of it anyway. Because the bass player could sing it and play it at the same time....

The Stooges 'I Wanna Be Your Dog' or the Velvet Underground's 'Waiting For The Man', I forget which one was first but I was listening to them both a lot around the same time when I bought my first guitar (an Italian made Gibson 330 copy in Roy Orbison black).
