Hi guys,

Been lurking a while now and now I have something to post about!

I was after some advice if possible please. I'm looking at a Forester Cross Sports and was wondering if there's anything in particular I should be wary about? Excluding the usual and Subaru's tendency to rust? Also anyone happen to know what insurance group they fall under at all? Thanks.

The sports ones seem to sit between an xt and an sti foz , insurance probably very similar , why not get an fsti they are a lot different to a standard foz , a fresh jdm older shape import generally rust free

Cos 2.5

I had a Cross Sports for a year. Radiator went, which is common at a certain age.

Change the gearbox and diff oil if it’s a fresh import. Mine had clearly never been done in its life, which led to whining bearings at just 50k miles.

MDMA .

It has the EJ20 engine (rated at 220bhp) so why not get the same but in the Legacy estate body? These are rated at 280bhp for the manual, 260bhp for the auto. As much interior space, less headroom, but a good overall package.

Legacy estate has considerably more leg room compared to a Forester. Also legacy estate is longer too.

Also worth noting that Cross Sports are rarer than a Legacy GTB. At least thats the case in the UK market.
