Trying to get temporary insurance for 2 days to pick up a vehicle from France ,
Can get cover, but, stipulates journey must “begin” & end in uk. How do I cover travel in France? Any advice much appreciated.

All done on the net. Very seldom can you contact them to speak or even send a question by email. Will have another search tho. Was asking really in case someone had all ready done the same.

No. Picking up van from France. Had to leave my car & van in France last year due to illness and then lockdown, trying to get a friend temporary insurance to drive one back, to insure for me plus named driver is silly money ( £1500 ) and my existing insurance will not allow to add another driver

I use a transport guy who is currently in France (based in the UK). You never know if he is empty on the return, perhaps he could do the job?

This is a genuine question and not an attempt at anything dodgy but ... how will they know the journey did not start in the UK? For all they know you (or your friend) drove to France and back.

If there was a big claim, I'm guessing all the details of the circumstances surrounding it and leading up to it would be in the police report, discussed at trial, at the coroner's court etc.

You could try http://lizardlogistics.com/

It's a PHer who runs the company (or definitely was a few years ago), and they're very highly rated by PHers who've used them.

The journey did start in the UK, albeit last year! OP, have you made insurers aware of this, and of the exact circumstances?
