Burn that Radiator Fan
Discussion
Quick Question : I'm off to the West Country on thursday in the Wife's Punto. For some reason the fan has lost interest in fanning as it were, which makes the car overheat particularly when stationary. Running a cable from the battery, I've proved that the fan itself is working fine.
If I were to wire it solid on for the length of the journey, is the fan motor likely to burn out - or is it used to that sort of thing. I mean - do fan's usually spin continually in hot weather ?
Thanks,
WG

Cant you wire in an override switch. on when slow moving off when crusing
Tricky. The fan isn't kicking in at all at the moment. So it would be a manual "on/off" rather than an override. I guess the question is - how much is the fan required when the car is in motion ? and will it burn out if it's constant on ?
