I have been a donkey and clonked the passenger mirror of my Camaro grumpy

The housing is cracked and the glass broke - so annoyed but my own fault and could have been worse.

Anyway, called the dealer for a cost of replacement parts.

Just the glass: £291.95

The housing (inc. glass but not painted: £989.97

Yes, really. They were as horrified as me! I think I can get the housing repaired as it's just cracked, not in pieces, and I have found a replacement glass (including heating element) on Ebay for less than £10 (!) but obviously not a genuine one.

Is there an alternative for Camaro parts in the EU? GM sold quite a few into the EU so parts like glass and mirror housings must be available for sensible prices? I don't blame the dealer for the prices btw - they are what GM set them at.

Any recommendations out there?

Yes - nothing I could find so far. I was expecting Ebay Germany might have something but will keep looking. Hopefully a repair will make the housing as good as new and shouldn't be hard to repair - the crack should be easily filled, sanded and painted.

The glass I might have to get from GM if the Ebay one doesn't have dimming/blind spot etc on it.

as an aside, but in keeping with how much dealer spares prices are, try asking for a full exhaust system for a 2013 SS.... £8,500 yikesyikes

Join the Camaro 6th generation UK group on Facebook. Guy on there (Peter John) was doing spare parts. Useful group for news etc anyway.

I'm based in Orlando FL and have sourced and shipped parts for a few folks on here.

Post the exact details/color and I'll get you a trade quote and/or a non OEM part from a variety of sources here.

Is it the entire unit - or just the shell and the glass?

Thanks Matt. I have already bought the (genuine) glass and am having a smart repair completed on the shell for a LOT less than a new one! Appreciate the offer of help though.

I wasn't able to find the EU mirror housing on any of the GM parts sites - can't imagine it's a big seller (although they built quite a few thousand EU cars on the US production line so they must be out there).
