Hi all, so I've been wanting to get something cheap for a while now, preferably under £1000 and preferably a V8, any ideas on what cars or where to look?

Entry level at turd status is 7-10K for a runner.................................
you may be able to buy a pile of Rusty pooh for less, probably wont have a motor, and if it does it wont be any good !

I know for something decent it'll cost a lot more than £1000, but I'm not necessarily looking for something that runs, as long as it has and engine and gearbox and isn't rotten I don't mind what it is, want it to be a long term project car

You just wont find anything for that budget.
An half decent bare block will fetch a grand!
a complete V8 that needs a full rebuild will be 2K plus for a clunker............

Ahhh okay, I've only looked at a few shells of cars that are cheap but didn't know how much other things would cost, thanks for the replies

Apologies if ive rained on your parade lol

if you can come up with the ready's now's a really good time to buy, prices are sliding, and theres loads of car that have been for sale for ever!

And if the storm do'es indeed come, and large numbers loose there job's , these toys will tumble in price, sad but true!

Im currently furloughed but going back Monday part time for the foreseeable, redundancies are on the cards!

Somebody in my village has 3 derelict cars in his garden. One is a Rover P6 3500 auto, there is also a Triumph 2500 (straight 6) and a Rover SD1, not sure of the engine in that.

It is possible he may want to sell one of them?
