So I have a bit of dead patio in our garden that doesn’t get sun. Top of the garden is where we sit.

I’ve seen some awesome outdoor kitchens on telly (James Martin’s one springs to mind) and looking for inspiration as to what I could put in this dead space - especially as I’m out using the Weber several times a week lately and the lack of counter space with it is annoying.

Thinking pizza ovens, bbq stations, with roofs, without roofs, all welcome!

Plus it’s an excuse to ogle people’s gardens and creations!

Or was this not quite what you had in mind? smile

(Just in case you're thinking 'oh my God' it's a so-called mud kitchen for my daughter but joking aside I bet one day I'll use some aspect of it for real!)

Excuse the crap photos and filthy patio but it gives you an idea.

I have a retractable roof and sides plus heaters. There are 2 roofs and 12 sides so you can mix / match to avoid wind or create shade. It really does extend the season for being outside.

Kitchen has charcoal BBQ, Gas BBQ, fridge, sink, gas hob and ice machine and plenty of storage and of course some outdoor speakers for sounds smile

Also to add, I considered a pizza oven but discounted it as I doubted it would get used that often. I use a pizza stone on my BBQ which gets to 650-700 degrees so I can cook a home made dough pizza in 4-5 mins.

I mean...scale it up a bit and it’s closer to what I had in mind than I care to admit

This is what I’ve been doing on the Weber! Haven’t quite nailed it yet as I kept burning the bottom but definitely getting there now!

Want to buy/make something like this:

BBQ Basics Pizza Insert / Pizza Ring for Diameter 57 cm Kettle Barbecues (including Stone and Shovel) https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07K4R35WW/ref=cm_sw_r...

Properly love the idea of a clay oven though!

Mine started life as a wooden gazebo, then I added rendered blockwork, electics, granite worktops, an IR heater, a hinged side, TV and a soundbar. It gets used all year round.

Watching with interest as I have just astro-turfed the roof terrance on the new house, added a hot tub and currently looking for U shaped sofa/dinning area for 10. Next stop is the outdoor kitchen. Have seen a few things online but would rather draw inspiration from you lot....... Although I am not sure why????? laugh out loud

Watching... I am still looking for inspiration around outdoor kitchens. If you're not yet a member of the outdoor BBQ kitchens FB group, it's worth a join. Some of the projects on there are fantastic!

I burnt mine many times before I got it right, I make my dough from 00 flour (if that makes any difference to cooking times), I found:-

Don't overlap the toppings (except the pasatta and mozzarella)
Use baking paper between the stone and the pizza
Put some semolina flour on the baking paper to be picked up on the base of the pizza
Cook for 4 1/2 minutes (once I go over that it seems to burn)

This works for me and gives a lovely crispy base with cooked toppings and melted cheese, but clearly every BBQ will be different - trial and error.

Great tips I’ll be trying those next non-stormy day, thanks!

That is absolutely fantastic. So many manly fire making stuff bits, yet a nice table to sit down and eat at after you sink a 6-pack while cooking burgers and steaks.

It was duel fuel, we had an insert for gas and bio ethanol. It was made by a local fabricator. The only problem was the first attempt dot too hot and cracked the Quartz
