I need to replace a noisy bearing, so I thought it would be worth changing the seals at the same time

At the very least I need to have some spares to hand in case I damage one when changing the bearing

I haven't seen them advertised so where can I get the seals from?

I’ve queried numerous times for a Raceproved seal kit. The response is ‘They can not be rebuilt with new seals, the whole slave assembly needs to be replaced’. They make a decent paperweight though.

Many thanks

Has anyone managed to replace the release bearing?

Decided to try to remove the release bearing from the original slave

Once disassembled it just needed opposing levers to remove the bearing

Hopefully the RP Slave will be no more difficult

Paul, I have successfully resealed RP slaves using OE seal kits. I'm not sure if that applies to all RP slaves, there's a long production run and some changes may have been made over the course of that run, but if you want to have a set of seals to try on an as-is basis just email me your postal address.
Release bearings just pull off / push on.

Question to the seal kit: will the TVR-Original Slave cylinder Seal kit fit to the Raceproved Slave cylinders?

Yes, the standard seal kit will fit. You will be one seal short though. I managed to find a replacement but don't remember the details off hand. I only did this around 1000 miles and 9 months ago so I don't know how well it will last.

Would be nice, if you can sort this out too (replacing the missing one)

Reviving an old thread...

Where is the best place to get (clutch) slave seal kits from these days to rebuild a 'standard' item (if there is such a thing as standard.....). As far as I'm aware, my slave is the 'normal' one and has not been swapped for an upgraded one. Thanks!

TVR E7000 Clutch slave seal kit from motaclan

Make sure you do not damage them when fitting, use red rubber grease

Please note the newer Raceproved uses much larger V cross section seals, would be great to find a source for them

Thanks Paul, much appreciated. Just need to get it all apart then I can examine the condition and see if its rebuildable or if a new RP is on the cards (choosing RP over the 'standard' option).

Sorry, I don't (currently - but will be trying to work on a solution). Turns out my existing slave WAS an RP one, but silver anodised not red - dated 0607 (I assume that's the date code as it was fitted in late 2007). just awaiting my new (red?) RP one to arrive, hopefully today!
