As Fathers day approaches, what words of wisdom...
Discussion
Dont think my father ever gave me words of wisdom.
what he did do is teach me how to be:
Nice.
Well Mannered.
Respectful.(for most people).
To be happy.
To be fun.
To get on with all kinds of people.
To enjoy Life.
He was the best.I think he taught me well.
I can't tell him how much he meant to me.

I can only live my life in his honour.(he would be so sick if he saw my car !)lol
HE WAS THE BEST...................
Always be in my heart Pa.......

fathers day was invented by greetings card salesmen, and is not a traditional day like mothering sunday!
my father was in the royal artillery and died a month before i was born, mostly due to blundering socialists, much the same situation as is happening now to the children of servicemen who billy liar does not count or give a shit about!
i have photo albums and a grave to visit so i suppose i must be thankful to the cowardly socialist vermin who are never prepared to risk thier lives for thier country and prefer to stay at home protesting about injustice and intolerance!
w*nkers!

its awfull to hear people to say their fathers are shits and it kinda makes me sad.
Im not in any way to judge but life is too short, you always have friends/family/relationships ect but your mum and dad should be sacrosanc (imho).
This is coming from someone who is not particularly close to either parent but it is coming from someone who owes them a *hell* of a lot.
Look after your parents people.

It's all right. "Honor thy parents" is a Commandment, but I think it only applies if they were really parents to you. Some people's parents were really, really bad to them. Like, unspeakably bad. Sometimes, things can't be healed, no accord can be reached, and no forgiveness can occur. Takes two, and sometimes, things just don't work out. For a lot of people, their "family" ends up not actually being the people they're related to, and that's OK. The important thing is to take care of the people who care about you.
Biology doesn't guarantee love. Just goes to show: my dad's mum had divorced, remarried, and the new husband adopted my dad. Dad and my grandfather got along and had much more in common than my grandfather and his biological son did--so much so that after I was born, he had suggested to my dad that I'd inherited my eye problems from his side! He and my dad were so similar that he'd forgotten that they weren't actually related. Well, he was a tiny bit senile... Dad really didn't know his biological father. (Edited to say: this is not to say that my grandfather didn't also love his biological son, just that their personalities weren't as similar.)
So, words of wisdom from my Dad: "Don't let the bastards grind you down.", and "You might as well have a sense of humor about yourself." And "People who don't have any scars have never tried anything." (I have a lot of scars due to clumsiness. He was trying to make me feel better about my looks.

well I guess then given your experiences you have to show your kids what being a parent is all about. Cant imagine (touch wood) what life without mine would be like.
Be proud of what youve brought them up to be and the example you have, and will continue to set them.
Good luck to you mate

Ok so your sad
in fact bollox to it mate, what you said, and what you implied is sad. Im sorry your parents didnt do right by you, but ill be buggered if my parents and the many others who have are to be cheapened by your personal attack.
My parents have sacrificed a lot to send me to a bloody good school and university and I never went without. enjoy your Porsche 965 my friend because thousands of others have gone without such luxury things to provide for their children.
This isnt a personal attack (it cant be because I dont know you from adam), but many, many, many, many, parents have done their best to provide for their "kids" at all stages of their life.
So dont tell me to piss off because I owe my parents one.
...Night Night....
