Driving to Cannes - where to stop halfway ?

Hi all - as/when Corona lifts and assuming nil quarantine I am intending to drive down to Cannes for our usual 2 weeker as opposed to flying.

I will be driving with my 2x young children so will break the journey up and stay somewhere on the way down. Can anyone recommend somewhere that is 2/3rd's of the way down for us to stop and stay 1 night ? Don't mind staying somewhere nice and making it part of the holiday etc.

About 30 mins south of Troyes is https://www.le-val-moret.com/

I always stop here especially on the way down.
- Just off the autoroute
- Fab food
- Cheap
- Pool for kids
- Can park close to your room

The rooms are not much, but the place is entirely designed for a good stop off. Many of the race teams use it as it has lorry parking out the back.

Anything a bit further south ? Near Lyon or around there so I can get the bulk of the drive done on the first day.
