It's all very strange. Worse than the lack of atmosphere is having to hear Steve Mcmannan trying to fill the silent gaps.

The first goal was an excellent goal. As expected the players are rusty and the overall pace of the game isn't there.

The Schalke keeper couldn't look less interested if he tried.

Same, feels very preseason or even masters football given it sounds like the game is indoors.

Union Berlin for me teamwise. Arranged tickets for a game back in 2014 for my mate's stag. 1-0 down in the first min, shocking tackle to go down to 10 in the last. Lacked quality but cracking atmosphere on the terraces with a pint. Followed their results ever since and great to see them in the top flight.

Leipzig for me, only because the new Leeds signing is from there. Got bored at half time and switched to Dortmund, got bored of that and went to watch some paint dry instead.

A few moments of skill by Dortmund, but overall it was not much more than a box ticking excercise.

It felt and looked like a meaningless game of football.

That's a game when "all football eyes were watching", one team going for the championship and the other a European slot. I can't imagine what a wet Tuesday night between two mid table clubs would be like.

Extra time winner, quite enjoyed watching the highlights, a full 90 with no atmosphere might have been a bit dry, but 3 points for the (new) boys...

Enjoyed watching Gladbach but it really feels odd. Hopefully warm to it because this is better than no football I suppose.

One D in Dortmund, there's only one D in Dortmund.

Yes, that empty, hollow feeling you get when you realize you miss the incredible warmth of oligarch club ownership, the deep seated involvement of Arab slave traders, the incredible football know how of American venture capitalists and the all consuming TV rights money making even the smallest club great again.

It all just lacks a certain shallowness and commercialization we've all become so accustomed to.

Sigh.

I grew up liking Wolfsburg but I've been to a few FC Koln home matches since so picked Koln. As long as St Pauli take a battering I'm happy.
