: )cracking goal by Adriano for brazil just there !!! the game needed it.

anyway,

many moons ago i had an MR 2 (mark2), it was black and an absolute nightmare to keep the paintwork in top nick...... little white lines all over the place.

The fibre of the elise is completely alien to me, what colour is best to hide chips, wear, wife cleaning it : ) ?

Cheers
Scott

Since lotus changed from an acrylic based paint to a water based paint, these things pick up stone chips really quickly.

If your only aim is to disguise chips and marks then go for white and be boring!

Avoid purple, I love mine but it really shows the dirt and stone chips!
My mates titanium hides the chips and dirt very well and silver is also supposed to be good.

mine is titanium, and hides dirt/chips well, however it never looks gleaming even when polished to death.

my previous chrome orange elise was stunning when clean, but dirt and chips were a nightmare!!!

My silver S2 hid chips better than my Ardent red one, but the red is OK. Looks superb when clean, and doesn't look instantly dirty with two specks of dust on the paint like black can.

Go for Storm Titanium, it really hides the dirt well & looks good when polished (my wheels get dirty very quick, but do look good when clean).

My 111S has only done 700 odd miles, but has a couple of stone chips already, but with Storm you can't notice them unless your cleaning it!

I will be using mine every day rain or shine for the next 3 years so only time will tell....

have to say ice blue (or whatever it's now called) is great for chipping...cos the shell is naturally a light grey colour. YOu cant see any stone chips on mine until you get about 6 inches away...

I'd agree with nightmare, i also have mine in ice blue and cant really see the stone chips unless looking really close.

I'll second lightning yellow for hiding stone chips and it also seems not to show the dirt too badly.

Is it me or is that poor grammer?

Ice blue was replaced by Glacier blue (a shade or two darker) and now its Polar blue (darker again).

I can tell you which one isnt any good

MAGNETIC BLUE ! ! !

Its crap. Its gotten so bad, I have raised the issue with Lotus, direct, and the local dealer has taken photos of it for the Lotus Techie, when he turns up.

At it turns out thats this Tuesday and I am going to phone them Monday, to find out if its better to bring the damn thing round instead.

LOL! I agree. I didnt so much use a touch up pen to cover the stone chips, I repainted the front end with a dinky little touch up pen......

I also have a mag blu S2...love the colour and luckily dont do too many motorway miles so chips so far have been negligable. would be interested in your findings though, keep us posted.
