C6 Wheel chrome finish rectification

I’m in the process of trying to buy a C6 and one possible example is a 2007 which is good apart from deterioration of the the chrome finish to the wheels.
Has anyone experienced this problem and can the wheels be restored to original easily & not too expensive?
It would also be good to know of any specialist wheel restorer who could deal with this.......

Mine are the same, the salt has got to them. I will be sending mine to a company that can replate chrome (not necessarily a wheel specialist).

Thanks Dave - have you found a suitable company and got some idea of cost? Also, can they be de-chromed and then powder coated?

I had my C5 Z06 wheels dechromed and powder coated. When the chrome came off it left the copper plating behind. This was just blasted lightly to key them for the coating.
I have a set of C6 Z06 chrome's in the garage that I would like to dechrome and powder coat after a bit of repair.

Had the same thing with my chrome wheels on. my C6 Z06.
BJV near Hemel Hempstead did a great refurb job..
The finish was a bright silver painted finish rather than the original chrome.
I actually preferred the slightly less shiny finish.
I found the originals to be a bit blingy for my taste.

Sorry Woodsy ,can t remember the cost now , I think you can get some idea from their website.
They do two services, either you delivery the wheels to them ,or leave the car with them and they keep the car in secure storage while they do the job, which is the route that I chose.
Also dropped me at the local train station.
