Interior A pillar trim removal for Dab aerial
Discussion
Cheers for the replies anymore suggestions welcome.
I haven't tried it yet as not got access to the car at the moment but want to do it all in one go while the lower dash is out, as in fit new stereo, aerial and reverse camera.
Have you got a picture of yours fitted in the Griff by any chance?

Looking at the pictures from my interior re-trim, the A pillar trim is glued in place and the windscreen is bonded on top of it all. Underneath is a steel hoop that would provide an earth but it is buried under a lot of padding.
Best left alone.....
The hoop is on the other side of the windscreen adhesive and quite a way around the corner from where the antenna is mounted. In any case, I don't think it'll be a good ground. Best left alone.....
I've known many of these antennae to work fairly well without being ground but my understanding of them is that they perform much better when they are.
