If there would be a TVR meet in Sweden...

Dear fellow TVR enthusiasts,

I have a question for all of you TVR enthusiasts in the UK and of course in the rest of Europe.

If there would be an inter-european TVR event in Sweden, should it be a track day or more like a meet where we gather somewhere to have a good look at eachothers cars and go for a nice drive along swedish countryside roads etc? What would most of you prefer if you would come to Sweden for a TVR meeting of some kind?

We currently have some initial thoughts about arranging an event next year where we would like to invite people from abroad as well, so I just thought I'd try to find out what kind of an event would be most successful. Perhaps we could try to arrange a combination of the above mentioned scenarios. Just at the thought stadium at the moment...

Hiya Johan,

I think personally that a meet whereby we park up, look at each others cars, chat and go for a drive through the rather beautiful Swedish coutryside would be far more appealing than a trackday. Stopping off at a good pub/restaurant for some lunch as well. It would allow a bit more get to know you chat and would have the benefit of not putting off the people who don't do/like track days.
Don't worry about your English though, its a hell of a lot better than my Swedish..

Sweden is a beautiful country and you can sail there from Newcastle. I might be interested in something next year. Do you not have fairly draconian speed limits though?

I spend a lot of time in Sweden (I manage a rock group based in Malmo) and
normally really enjoy driving there (had a very strange run in with a
physco biker last weekend though )

People do seem to stick to the speed limit very closely and there are a few cameras
around the outskirts of the Cities to watch for.

I may bring my TVR over one summer. I don't fancy investing in studded
tyres for the winter.

I'm back in Svedala in July and Gothenburg in August for shows if you are about?
