Blown air heating vs gas heater

I'm planning the refurb of an 80s Autosleeper motorhome, and one element is water and space heating.

I'm looking at the Truma Combi 4, which can do water and blown air heating in one. I've not experienced blown air heating before, so would that be sufficient to mean that I could do away with a Truma gas heater? If so, I'd be happy to have the space back!

I would say it depends on how big the MH is and how toasty you like to get.

We have had blown air in all 3 of our MH's but in my experience it takes time to get to a warm temperature (Mrs O does like it toasty) but then easy to maintain it. Our MH is 8.7m long though and the vents at the front don't expel that much warm air when on Eco as they are so far from the combi boiler. We carry an oil filled radiator for use in winter just to get quicker hear into the front of the MH, where we sit when inside.

I have heard good things about the Alde 'wet' system so we are looking forward to when that get specc'ed by our favourite MH maker.

All in all though its a tried and trusted method of heating which is used by the majority of manufacturers I would say.

Hot water-wise, the Truma combi we have holds 10 litres (maybe we have the Truma 6?) and that is more than enough for Mrs O to have a nice hot shower. I always use site facilities.

Thanks - it's not a large motorhome, so I think just blown air might work.

I have a small 3kw electric heater that I use to get the van comfortable. If we are going away in poor climate we generally insist on electrics.
