Nearly a year gone....

Since Smolenski bought our fave car company.

Can you believe that in about 6 weeks, it will be a year since he took over.

What's the general opinion? :scratchchin:

Not sure myself. Is a year a long time or not? There seems to have been alot of people coming and leaving.

Is this new era going to work out or do you reckon at 25, he'll get bored if he doesn't see a quick result? :confused: :smokin:

I for one think he is a really good guy and fed up of people pouncing on every move he makes and psycho-analysing it.

Whatever decisions TVR make are not spur of the descion ones, and NOTHING to do with the rest of the population.

Thats good to hear. (not the toothache )

You must appreciate that being on the outside, I (along with many others) don't get a proper understanding of what's happening, unless advised. Same goes for you too?

You are obviously in a privalaged position to be confident about the future. Thanks for sharing that.

Personally I have no real opinion. It's made no difference to my TVR ownership. In the last year they've released 2 cars I knew over a year ago were coming out. The only new thing the companies doing that seems good is the 3 year warranty.

This rich little kid with no real experience seems to of let go anyone with real experience in the car business. I have read the post about Mr James and I have come to the conclusion that there are some very good car people now unemployed. The Russian kid will soon be the longest serving employee of TVR!

You dont know the reasons why Phil has left TVR and the only people who should is Phil and Nik.

There are a lot of very good people left at TVR and some have been there for a long time. Dave Cumming, Mike Penny to name 2.

So untill yuo know the real facts I suggests you put your conclusion on the back burner.

With every take-over, a decision making vacuum will always occur.
Existing staff are too worried about their jobs to argue about their decision making parameters so you end up with the new owner/s making ALL decisions.
Learning about a new company, it's weaknesses and strengths, staffing etc takes a lot of time for the new owner. Naturally, decision making slows down for a time.
What may be compounding this problem is that I believe Mr.S only devotes part of his time to the TVR business. Another pointer to a slow decision making process. Hopefully he will soon learn to trust some of the staff and delegate decision making. If not, then continuing silencs from the factory on major matters can only ensure that confidence in TVR will be fatally undermined.
Frankly speaking, don't really have any personal issues with the way Mr. S has run the biz so far but who knows what is around the corner?. I only hope he doesn't get bored with TVR and decide to sell it on.
What TVR needs is a longish period of investment and stability. Peter Wheeler took it to where it is today and we can only hope that Mr. S continues in the same vein and take it to higher levels.
