I wondered how long it would be before it was canned. I normally go to the NEC show every other year, but the London venue is just too small, too difficult to drive to and too crowded. Consequently I haven''t been to the London show for several years. The NEC is the right venue for such a show, and it should be held there every year.

Except it's even more inconvenient to get to than Earls Court !! I'll swear that the main reason it flopped so badly was that people couldn't drive there.

I actually preferred the Earls Court Motorshow, it was much more compact less niff-naff and trivia. If you got there early doors on the Saturday you could look around everything before the crowds got there (usually around the lunchtime). Then you could spend the afternoon/evening in London village. Whereas at the NEC, you queue to park the car, queue to get it, spend ages wandering about, there's hardly any more cars there, just more spaced out and more people.

It's because all these southerners ride mopeds and real drivers live in the North.
