Band listed on iTunes - yay

Very very chuffed: my band, Stryngs, is now listed on iTunes. We'll probably sink without trace, but it's a nice feeling to know we're now listed with one of the major on-line distribution people. 11 others on the way too...
And we'll never get rich off it, but the exposure can't hurt...
(If you do search for us on iTunes, ignore the "Gladly Playe with..." lot - they're an American Christian band doing twee versions of Christmas songs, among other things...)

Have you sent a demo to The Waterfront in Norwich? They do all sorts of stuff down there (or you could hire it and try and fill it yourself if you're mental like us). See pics of the venue at www.eaves.biz!
Its got a nice pro feeling stage & light setup, rather than the usual fruit pallet of a stage in a dark corner of a pub basement!

We found the Carling Academy Bar in Islington was a good London venue. There are plenty to avoid though!

If you don't mind me asking how do you go about getting your tracks on iTunes? I have some friends who are in a band called MooG (www.moogmania.co.uk) and are currently touring around the UK but obviously the extra exposure from iTunes would be more than welcome.

Actually, getting punted out to the various digital distributors is easy *if* you already sell through CD Baby (www.cdbaby.com).
They're a cool independant internet retailer in the states who we use for shipping CDs to US-based customers. We set the selling price, they carve off $4. There is a setup fee, which is modest, and once you're set up, they'll deal with creating digital copies of material in the right format for all the big digital distributors. They then punt it out to them. It's still up to the digital distributors if they list bands or not.
