Trying to find some borderless pressed number plates in the UK for my new M340i.

Can't find anywhere selling borderless ones :-( I ordered some a few years back for my F31 3 series on eBay that it appears the seller has now gone.

All the main UK suppliers don't seem to offer borderless and I don't want a black border.

If anyone knows where I can get some I would be very grateful!

Cheers

Thanks I should have said - I’m trying to find a supplier where I can scan and email docs rather than posting copies to them.

Send https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/312976168994?ViewItem=&... a message. He did my son's and took a photo as evidence. Great quality plates too, and I'm sure he can do borderless too.

I've used passed plates, BSAU marked, for several years and multiple MOTs on various cars now. They are perfectly within legislation.

There's no legislation regarding construction material in BSAU 145d that makes plastic any more legal or preferable than pressed metal.

Of course not but that's not the point.

I thought they were illegal as they are not reflective/not sufficiently reflective?

Actually most places state which of their plates are road legal and which are 'show plates'

As long as pressed plates:
- have a reflective background
- have the correct font
- don't have anything stupid like the German "D" flag
- have the correct BS and makers marks

... they're legal. That said, I bought some supposedly legal pressed plates on eBay and they have neither BS or makers marks. Told the seller and heard nothing back so there are chancers out there...

They don't. I just emailed Number1plates, there response is:

"No sorry.
All pressed blanks come with a black border on from the supplier."

Could someone explain to me why you would want these anyway? These sort of people I assume for their 2010 black Range Rover with black wheels and tinted windows?

Some might be wishing to recreate an in-period look from some point in the previous century.

Ah yes, that old favourite in legislation “don’t have anything stupid “.
