Black stuff coming from my exhaust.
Discussion
Something very very similar happened to us two weeks ago. Packing up the car outside a lovely hotel in Epernay (once the home of the Chandon - of Moet et Chandon fame) when the missus looked down at her GEOX shoes and trousers which were smattered with black oil marks.
Immediately fearing the worse she demanded I inspect every inch of the Chimster but alas no leaks. She took her shoes off all the way home, suspicious that the evil jelous Chimster would contine splurting stuff all over her.
Nice men at Roath Garage confirmed it would have been water in the exhaust spluttering out mixed with all the crap which destroyed her shoes.
£95 later and the problem is solved, she has new shoes.
Suits You
Out of interest, every gallon of petrol burnt produces an equal volume of water. When the exhaust system is cold, this will condense inside and appear as as mucky water.
When the old girl is warmed up (car that is) you'll only get steam out. It's such a small volume that you can't see it
