M2 Comp brake pads
Discussion
I've recently done a track day and my brakes are now feeling really rough and fading quicker than normal - note, I didn't tick the brake upgrade when ordering the car (kicking myself now).
I'm assuming I've f***ed the pads, any suggestions or recommendations? And would new lines and brake fluid make a big difference?

If your brake pedal is now longer/softer then it's simply a case of renewing the brake fluid.
You have boiled the existing fluid. You've likely glazed the pads too, which isn't so much of an issue; they'll de-glaze with use.
Swap the fluid out for something better - I always use Castrol SRF, nothing compares to it. You might want to pull the pads out and give them a light sanding to remove the glazing.
Good luck.

You're welcome mate.
If you intend on doing more track days I would recommend different pads. The uprated brake fluid will only go so far.
There are a few options, but if you want the best then you need a full set of Paid RS29 pads.

I was planning on replacing them with Ferodo DS2500 before the next track day. Do you think Pagid pad are better and have you used them on track and road? If you intend on doing more track days I would recommend different pads. The uprated brake fluid will only go so far.

I'd go straight to the Pagid RS29 - it's what I now use on my daily & track driven Z4MC and there's no noticeable degradation in road manners over a standard BMW pad.ollieM2C said:

Hi Ollie,I don't think the DS2500 will cut it. I used the Pagid pads for track & road. They held up on track (I did several) and they were fine on the road; they felt just like the standard pads.
The thing to note; bed them in properly! I cannot stress that highly enough. There are instructions that come with the pads, and you can find them on their Racing website.
They will squeal initially. A lot. Once they are bedded in they'll be, mostly, quiet. And if they do begin to squeal simply carry out a few hard stops from a high speed. That will solve things.

Thanks for the recommendations. I’ve just done my first track day with RS29s installed, Castrol SRF and upgraded brake lines. Totally transformed the breaking, no spongy pedal

Hey Ollie,
Fantastic! Super happy that you got the result you wanted. The Pagids are awesome.
If they start squealing excessively on the road do a few stupidly heavy stops. That will transfer pad material to the discs & quiet them down.
Really happy I could help. Feel free to PM me, if you need anything further.
