Arent R/C Nitro engine brillant

I just rebuilt my nitro engine. I have HPi S.25 engine.
Engine spec is:-
.25 (4.1cc)
3bhp@30,000RPM Yes 30,000rpm
Run on Methanol, Nitromethane, oil mixed togother.

good enough for monster that weighte 10 pound to reach 45mph.


Those con-rod is about 1 inch long.

Pretty arent it.

If you had a V16 made up of these little babies you could make quite an interesting scooter!

I saw some OS 30 Wankel Rotary Engines the other day that looked quite neat as well.

thats 730 hp/litre.

I used to fly R/C planes. We'd get about the same out of .4 cubic inch (6.5cc) single cylinder two stoke engines but with better durability and better torque.
You've got to love the trail of oil that the aero versions traced across the sky.
And the oil spattered fuselages and the planes. Hmm, burnt castor oil is one of the nicest smelling oils out there.

I'm intrested in buying a GOOD RC car. Can some of you guys in the know give me some ideas as to quality makes. Ps I Particularly like the chainsaw engined ones. Quite a while ago I used to run an FG modelsport (Sp?) race truck that was farking hooge.
Just missing the sillyness of it all.

Not too bad, more of a puller than a performer
Its a very fussy lump though and if you didnt notice i need a new head as i rolled it with the body off while setting it up

I had a HPI RS4 a few years ago but some buggers nicked it from my shed. Me want one again. The speed, the fumes, the detail, The CRASHES, the cost of repair.

Intoxicating, and sometimes it was even toxicating! I think I need one again. Local r/c club disbanded a while back, Hhmmmmm where to drive it....

THAT MIGHT BE .... A LITLE BIT ... LOUD

V12 would come in at 49cc capacity whilst knocking out 36bhp. Stick some peddles on it and a speedo that only goes to 30mph and ... call it a moped. Take your car drivers licence, say goodbye to your family and have a bit of fun says I.

I have this HPI Savage SS 4.6, which cost a small fortune when I built it and still costs me a fortune in repairs when I crash it,
Has the standard .28 HPI engine which is a gem. Easy to set up and tune. Will do wheelies on command with the right gearing.



I use mostly it at a local skate park which is fatal. All concrete and steel. I've broken something every time I've been there. Also I drive 30 minutes to Royston, where there's a BMX circuit which is the best place to run a truck like this.
