Hmmm, first time I've used that site, I uploaded the file myself to www.sitesled.com/

Looks OK but maybe not. I tried disabling everything I have on my PC...no dildo popups.

Edit on the main page it does say no banner ads, no popups etc.

Twincam you no doubt have something on your PC. The original link was to an MP3 file - they can't contain any spyware and certainly can't launch any.

No, I just have this thing called 'the 180 search assistant' that I can't for the life of me get off my computer. It detects keywords and activates popups. Normally when I'm on this site it'll send me a couple of 'great offers' about $12000 loans for Toyota Camrys in the Missouri region, or if I'm after a CD it'll plug Amazon or something.

It obviously thought, if I was clicking on that link, that I was after Vixpy's cutlery and provided adverts accordingly!

Try downloading "spybot search and destroy" can be good for killing spyware, also got a cool title.

I've had to kill 180 search assistant before on a user's machine at work. Complete bastard. Spybot S&D and Adaware were used in succession repeatedly to get rid of it. 180 search assistant will regenerate itself if you try to delete it

That 180 Search Assistant was uploaded onto ours when I tried to use a mirror site for a DVD codec download.
I got rid of it by just going into my Program Files and getting rid of all trace of it. Spybot didn't work on that occasion, I just had to do it all manually.

And then switch to Firefox as your primary browser

Even better, just say FU to Gates & the rest of his minions, and try out a Linux distro that boots off CD so you don't need to kill your existing setup. If you like it after a while, install permanently ;-)

Problem with 180 is that it's actually got an 'uninstall' function.

By activating it, you uninstall the uninstall programme.

I wonder how many people have panicked, clicked on it and found it hard-wired to their system?
