Bah.
Well, I'm back from the pub, so in true PH fashion, time for some kind of women/what? rant.
So - I've been playing about with internet dating (after a few threads on PH). Last night I was on another one (thanks, hot or not!), and things were going 'differently'.
So - on the plus side, I was making her laugh and we weren't short of conversation. On the downside, her body language was very closed. Anyhow, she managed to raise my hopes by suggesting (unprompted) that we meet up for food next time around. Sadly, no text today, and no reply to mine.
Anyway, what is it with women? I'm not bothered if they don't fancy me (everyone can't - it'd just be embarrassing, otherwise! ;)), but why bother to say you'd contact me tomorrow to sort out another date if you're not interested?
I'll never understand it. Anyone else had this trouble?

One of my dating site profiles read something like 'Women tell me that my grey hair is distinguished, but none of them ever say "Hey, you look distinguished, fancy a shag?" '.

TBH, either she just wants to be friends, or she's being protective of herself, subconsciously, until she knows more about you.
Bear with her. Until you know she doesn't fancy you.
That said, I've recently been led up the garden path, so to speak, by a girl too flirty for her own good and I messed up our friendship, for what it was, really bad. TBH it was probably her fault for sending me overt messages she didn't mean.
So try and get some idea what she thinks of you. Don't rush things and race up that scale of intimacy faster than she'd like, but for Christ's sake don't leave it too long either.

If she was trying to be then it missed by a mile in my book, assuming she just hasn't had a flat battery all day or something like that.
If she didn't want to go on another date then she should have said nothing. That, together with her body language would have said thanks but no thanks. Likewise if she had changed her mind she should have replied with a text toned in a polite but unequivocal manner.
Life's too short not to tell, or not tell (IYSWIM), it like it is.

I'd say so. Recently single myself after six years and I can see plenty of opportunities for when I feel like exploring them

If so, reminds me of an episode of Friends that was very funny but well observed where Chandler couldn't help himself at the end of a date where he had no intention of seeing the woman again, but blurted out 'This was nice, lets do dinner, I'll call you!'; point being the old phenomenon of people prefering to end a date on the pretence of having another to avoid any embarrassment...think most of us have done it at one time or another.

The first thing that crossed my mind was that she was playing hard to get. I then dismissed this as stupid and thought that one of her friends had advised her to leave it or something. But now i think she is being plain rude unless a reasonable excuse crops up.
Seeing as you ar getting replies i would move on to the next one mate.
