how do poeple think the 968 will hold up value wise
how are they to keep as an every day car i was thinking of a 3.2 911 but with a child on the way a 968 seems better value and perhaps more practical

They're so cheap these days they can't really come down that much more over the next couple of years until they're an 'old' Porsche.

The CS will alwayd hold its value better but don't go buying all the good ones - I'll be joining you soon!!

Better than the 968 Lux?
Not so sure...A lot of CS have been thrashed...
But anyway they'll keep their value better than any given 3.2!

Thom,

Defo more than the 968 lux, these are starting to become really cheap (well, over here, can't comment on the tastes of our continental buddies of course).

CS's are the one to have in most opinions I think.

I think the lux is always going to be a bit of a third choice over here. If you want the full on performance go for the CS, but if you want the comfort go for the Sport, which is basically a CS with the comfort bits added back.

no way a 968 (clubsport excepted) is gunna hold its value better than a 3.2. Buy a nice rhd 3.2 now for £10k ish and a 968 for the same and in 5 or 10 yrs the 3.2 will be worth pretty much the same whereas the 968 will be worth the same as a 944 lux is now, ie a couple of grand if you are lucky. Buy a 3.2 clubsport for sensible cash ie not the stupid mid £20k some monkeys are asking and it will appreciate significantly.

And keep in mind that a 968 for 10k is already about 10 years younger than a comparable value 3.2 Carrera. Like for like an 89 951S was originally about the same price as a 3.2 whereas now a mint 951 can be had for less than 10k whereas a mint 89 3.2 will still fetch high teens. The only thing that may help the 968 is it's relative rarity.
