engine wont start - advice on disgnostics please
Discussion
Last Sunday I tried to start the car and while it turned over, not a hint of starting. Easy start made no difference. The car had been running fine 2 weeks before when I drove it into the garage. The one odd thing that is still nagging me is that when I was turning it over the frost warning came up on the dashboard (its in a warm garage).
After a lot of swearing, I found I had no spark. I removed the crank sensor and checked the resistance and it showed open circuit (should be 360 Ohms). I am therefore awaiting a replacement from TVR parts.
Anyway tonight I thought I would try again to get the diagnostic software to work (never got round to it). Eventually I succeeded and the following screen appeared - note currently the crank sensor is disconnected.

Anyone know why the crank sensor is showing green and I have a "Air Temperature" red? Do you think the new crank sensor will solve my problem when it arrives? If not what else it stopping it firing? Note, I cleared the fault code and it came back
Any advice will be most appreciated.

Replaced crank sensor, Ford Escort Mk IV! - I wonder what else from the parts bin came from strange cars (my S had Saab ball joints). Engine fired up perfectly. Air temp error cleared, while diagnostic did show air temp in degrees (reading was correct), the warning was from the other sensor on the airbox (that I had forgotten I had disconnected).
Really pleased I have got the diagnostics to work. Must now look at throttle, diagnostics says I am only at 91% when my throttle hits the stop.
On the road again.

You don't have to change anything, the throttle value starts at around 14% and stops at around 90%. So no need to worry :-)On the road again.

You only need to be sure that the throttle flaps open up correctly.

Re throttle opening - adjust the stop or the location of the sensor to get 100%Really pleased I have got the diagnostics to work. Must now look at throttle, diagnostics says I am only at 91% when my throttle hits the stop.
