Skoda Superb as a tow car?

I've heard lots of good reports for the Superb being a very good tow car, so I'm looking at getting an estate version as a second Towcar for our caravan weighing 1450kg.

Are there any models that I should be looking for with a budget of about £10k? Or models to avoid?

I've read that the newer 1.5TSi ACT is to be avoided as there are issues surrounding setting off from stationary, and perhaps out of my budget, Is the 2.0TSi DSG a better option, or perhaps the 2L TDi? Are there 4x4 models in my budget?
