Odd pedal feel under ABS
Discussion
Golf MK6 GT TDI 140 Manual
Something I have noticed either in a wet field or when braking on snow / ice, so stamping on the brake pedal hard AF, and the ABS working for a long time.
I notice that the pedal moves back and forth a bit. Releasing a bit, and then putting pressure back on the pedal.
Is this some sort of ABS / ESP feature where it will try to find more grip on the road, or an issue?
Already have hard - ish brakes, vacuum OK, but a new servo is alot of money and labour because hard to get at in my car.
Could the hard brakes be something connected to this odd sensation?
Thanks

Right, just comparing to my other car a 2002 Volvo V70.
You stamp on the brake, can feel the ABS working, and the pedal pressure is constant whilst the ABS vibrates it.
But not this odd sensation of the pedal then putting back pressure against you, and then releasing it.
My renault did this and it surprised me at first, thought it would just vibrate but it physically pushed the pedal back towards me. an odd sensation. You stamp on the brake, can feel the ABS working, and the pedal pressure is constant whilst the ABS vibrates it.
