Hi all, been some time since I last posted...

Long story short: I SORN'd my C Reg 350i around 4.5 years as I unexpectedly moved abroad. The expectation was always to return one day and bring her back to life, but as time has gone on, I've made the difficult decision to sell up with the hope that someone will get her fired up and running again.

So my question is: does anyone have any idea what the going rate for a SORN wedge is? Obviously there is going to be quite a range, but I would say that the condition is pretty good: ran like a dream before the SORN (serviced by David batty in Godalming not long before the SORN), hood is 10 years old and only in need of a good clean, seats are in decent condition (and I think out of a chimp).

Just need an idea so I can put something up online and see if there's any interest.

Thanks a lot

Might be worth joinng the Wedge Owners Facebook forum. Over 700 lads on it and a few looking for a light project right now. Not sure if we are allowed to post price guestimates in here (big Al??) But i sold my 350i last year in fair condition for just over £5k but fresh MOT and mechanically well sorted. I probably could have got more as i had a lot of interest but I was keen to make space for a SEAC project. Tidy Wedge,SORNED, I'd have thought circa £4k. Get an MOT on it and easily add another grand.

I personally would not even attempt to start it after that period without some oil down the bores and a change of oil and filter!...it will need new fuel hoses all round as the amount of ethanol was increased from 3%-5% recently and will be increased to 10% (E10) soon, brake fluids and oil will need changing, probably need a new battery, tyres all round, new plugs, lead and filters, possibly new fuel pump and definitely new fuel filter, brake caliper overhaul...plus all the bits that will need doing as regards to an old 30+ year old car...bushes, UJ's, steering rack, etc etc...just saying smile

Cheers for the responses so far, will definitely look into the facebook group.

My main issue with trying to get it MOT'd now to know what needs to be sorted: car is in UK, I am not!

I'd change the oil and oil filter, change the fuel filter, clean the spark plugs, inspect the hoses and fire her up. Jack her up and check the brakes are not binding and if it's hanging together book it in for an MOT for £45 so at least you know what is needed, and more importantly you can advise the potential new owner the same. My SEAC has stood for 15 years. Although I'm going through it with the proverbial fine tooth comb, in reality for an MOT all it needed was rear brakes unseized and headlights sorted. Fuel pump runs fine and apart from one original fuel filler hose, all other hoses were in good condition.

And they say TVR's are unreliable!

They are only as reliable as the owners that look after them. If they are maintained and preferably used then there's no reason why they should be any more unreliable than the donor cars the parts came from..... and there's a lot of them!

Seeing that the logistics are going to screw you up.
Sell it as a project as is £3k. Less chance of tyre kickers coming round and wasting time.
Or you could go through the hassle of begging friends and family to sort out getting it sorted and MOT'd and sell for £5k
Obviously going on your scanty description, might be higher or lower in price dependant on colour, how it was stored etc etc

Do you have a local garage that you trust and could ask to collect, light service and try an MOT?

Thought about getting an MOT, but it's just going to be too much of a pain doing it remotely..

So it's up on Facebook now for sale as a project.

Works for me. Do you have to be a member of the TVR buy and sell group on FB??

Yes, was my first TVR :-) which I bought in 2005 I think. Not the fastest but definitely the best sounding of all 4 wedges I have owned, including SEAC. From memory I did Gaz shocks, poly bushes, inc corner weighting, and new outriggers, so might not need too much doing. Fond memories.

Another FB for sale group to join :-)
