Octavia vRS coolant usage

I have a 2018 vRS 245 and in the past 3 months, I’ve had to top up the coolant twice. I’ve used the VW coolant and each top up has only been 50-100mls. Is this level of usage normal on this engine? I’ve had diesel cars for the last 12 years and they never seemed to use a drop.

If it's anything like my 2015 Golf GTI you may have a leak from the thermostat housing/water pump area. It's a common issue on this engine - mine is a year out of warranty so I'm having to resolve at my own expense.

Have had a 2017 vRS 245 for two years now, and last summer noticed that it was slowly but steadily losing coolant. Garage diagnosed a leaking hose connection under the engine and I got it fixed under warranty. You should get it checked as any loos of coolant signifies a probable issue

It’s in for a service in 2 weeks time. Hopefully they can find any leak.

Just ask them to pressure test the system and that should confirm if there are any leaks or not.
