I know that song, but I am almost sure they're not using on the advert on ITV. Whoever does the song I am sure I own the CD already, which is even more frustrating. Almost sounds Zero 7 ish.
Have to listen out for that ad though, saw it earlier yet I wasn't paying attention to the music.

Too true. I thought it was harsh but refreshingly real. One of those films that pretty much anyone can relate to. I know it had a lot of bad reviews, but I liked it, although the language got a bit rough for me innocent ears at times!
The beginning of the film was very effective with the Blowers Daughter. There's nothing more that makes a film than a well placed, enhancening soundtrack.
- That's my dream job, that is. Putting music to image, all day everyday. Finding that awesome song choice... that would be so cool!

I read an interview with the director Mike Nichols shortly after seeing the film. I was Googling because I couldn't believe how good a 'fit' the soundtrack (especially the opening scene) was to the whole film. Apparently the whole thing worked like a dream for him too. He was already a fan of Rice, but thought he should write a song called 'Closer' for the movie. It wasn't finished in time so Nichols had a listen to some of his other stuff. It was then he realised that 'The Blower's Daughter' was perfect.
Interesting that Nichols was responsble for 'The Graduate' which featured that famous (and timely) Mrs. Robinson song; an addition to the film only after a friend had sent him a cassette.
Very talented people.

Yep, the most real film I've ever seen. In a league of it's own. The scenes where Clive Owen finds out his wife has been having an affair are so believable. It's also the rudest (language) film I've even seen (except porn!)Don't want to spoil the ending but as a bloke I was really glad Clive Owen had the last laugh in the film.

I wasn't paying attention to the music either... more like thinking about Natalie Portman... mmmm

)I just went out and bought this film and watched it, as this thread made it sound quite good.
I enjoyed the film a lot. Natalie Portman remains as beautiful as ever, Clive Owen as cool as ever.
Not the sort of film to watch with the girlfriend I reckon, and I'd want to be pretty secure in any relationship to watch it with a partner.
Absolutely loved the scene towards the end in Larry's (Owen) practice room, where he basically verbally rapes Jude Law - talk about character-demolishing! Class. Owen would make a good Bond!
So, do all blokes relate to and side with Owen's character, despite the fact he's an arrogant bully?!
