Mk5 gti tfsi. What are they like to work on?
Discussion
Hello,
I'm considering an old mk5 gti for a daily. I do most of my own work on cars, but haven't had dealings with modernish VAG.
Recently I've used/worked on Subarus (foz and leg), Focus, Civic, Astra, older Volvos, Korean, etc.
VAG always seems less mechanic friendly. Is that right?

I would have said they are fairly simple to work on as they are designed to come apart, things like the outer door skins can be removed, brakes are no different neither is suspension. Just do your homework on the engine, if anything its the electronics on modern cars in general that can be more of a pain than the mechanical bits.
