9-5 blue smoke on start up?
Discussion
Hi,
Got a 1998 2.0t 9-5 with 85K on the clock - always had regular oil changes with full synthetic.
I have noticed of late blue smoke coming from the exhaust when starting it up. The problem seems to disappear once the engine has warmed up. So:
1. is this normal on a cold engine?
2. does it need further investigation e.g. breather system or potentially a whole new turbo?
Thanks

Not at all sure if this is relevant to your problem but my Aero (102k miles) does the same whan I start up on my drive. Have not noticed it anywhere else yet.
But then so did my Omega before that (from 65k to 137k miles and about 1/2 ltr oil per 9000 miles) and the Senator before that (102k to 174k miles and also about 1/2 ltr oil per service interval).
The drive slopes down a few degrees and I always park front down so I assume it is mostly related to that.
