Hello,

I've always wanted to do one of these "my build/my car" threads. So let's start from the beginning!

Rewind to February 2017, days after my 21st birthday and after rolling round in my respectable little Seat Ibiza "sport coupe" (so sporty 🤔), months of arguments with my parents about what car to get and realising an M3, R32 GTR or uniquely an Infiniti G37 were not realistic goals. A colleague of mine pulled up to work in a quite frankly stunning brand new dark blue Alfa Romeo Giulietta, forward to lunch that very same day and asking for a closer look and ride I was quite surprised by how well equipped the car was, It's sporty little exhaust note (1.4 turbo petrol) and sleek design.

After a brief trip that weekend to the local dealership (Mangoletsi) a traditional red Alfa Romeo Giulietta "Sprint Speciale" (spoiler, side skirts, limited edition wheels & limited edition sprint seats) a 1.4 Multiair (150hp petrol) caught my eye and the following week after another test drive, a trade in of my trusty Ibiza and hard saved cash and the car was mine.

15 months old 8,000 miles on the clock and 1 elderly owner for £12,500 (£8,800 cash + Seat) I was happy (I know looking back the cars I could get for that money now was a very diverse range but running costs insurance tax etc it was a good deal for me especially as I hate blending in with the standard golf/1 series/fiesta picks for my age).

As stunning as the car was I believe this is where the modified bug bit - boy did it bite hard!

your car looks very nice. I wish I had a lovely car like that at your age. I bought a QV when I turned 50!
I hope you are enjoying your car.

Very smart. Lovely car, I am a lot older and have had wayyyy too many cars and yet still have not had an Alfa.

Can I ask the usual middle aged question - have you declared your mods to your insurance company?
I am not asking to be a smart arse or to have a go at you, but out of concern to make sure that your pride and joy is validly covered.

Wishing you many adventures and happy miles in it...
